As well as providing optimum means of shipping rolling cargo, many roro vessels can be extremely flexible when used to carry non-mobile loads.
Utilisation of mafi trailers can often provide a viable solution to make "static" cargo mobile.
For abnormal loads heavy duty mafis to 100T payload are available. Above 100T, some carriers offer "super mafi's". Alternatively, jacking the load down to the ships deck can sometimes be viable. Alternatively, hire of the delivery vehicle through to destination can be considered.
Where roro operations are not viable, cars, trucks and trailers can almost always be shipped by some form of container or flatrack or conventional means if available.
Fastship have extensive experience of roro operations including development of new services to East Africa and West Coast South America.
